Background
In research institutions such as universities, various chemicals are used in experiments, and accidents caused by chemicals frequently occur. There are many risks associated with chemicals such as health hazards and injuries due to explosions. The problem is that some researchers and students are not aware of these risks, and they do not have an opportunity learn more about them. In addition, many chemicals require specific safe handling procedures stipulated by law such as the Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Law, the Fire Service Act, and the Industrial Safety and Health Act. These legislations are not well known, and, moreover, procedures are not always followed correctly by experimenters who should know better. There is also a tendency of accidents caused by chemical substances to occur frequently in the field of bioscience and physical systems such as mechanical and electrical engineering. Extensive and effective environmental safety education is necessary in these instances.これまでの研究活動
化学物質を用いた実験における種々の事故についての情報収集と原因分析を行い、それらを防止するための安全教育コンテンツに必要な情報提示のためのリソースを構築し、適正な安全教育の手法について検討考察を行った[1][2]。また、Moodleの用語集データとして記録されている化学物質の危険有害性を、音声UI経由で確認できる手段として、Googleのスマートスピーカーやスマートフォン上で利用可能なGoogleアシスタント用の音声アプリを開発した[3]。ユーザは、手がふさがった状態でも、化学物質の名前を発することで、その人体有害性、物理的危険性、および刺激性の情報(GHSの管理区分のうち関係する情報がピックアップされる)を音声で確認でき、画面付きスマートスピーカーでは視覚的にも確認できる。
